Should you buy the AMD RX 480 or the Nvidia GTX 1060?

It's a basic question that's been kicked around since the GTX 1060 launched. Should you go for the 1060 (which outperforms the RX 480 in most scenarios) or stick with the RX 480?

At first glance, the answer seems pretty obvious. If you're the average gamer that plans on sticking with a single GPU solution, you should absolutely stick with a single GTX 1060. In addition to outperforming the RX 480 in most benchmarks and gaming scenarios, it also can be more easily obtained as of the writing of this article.
